A few simple rituals are all it takes to keep top grain leather supple and suede plush for decades, not seasons.

01 · Top-Grain Leather

Hydrate. Clean. Store.

Top grain leather is incredibly durable, but it needs periodic hydration to maintain its suppleness and prevent it from drying out.

Routine cleaning

Wipe down your leather bag, jacket, or accessory once a week with a soft, dry, or slightly damp microfiber cloth to remove surface dust and dirt. Never use harsh household detergents, alcohol, or acetone.

Conditioning

Every 3 to 6 months, apply a premium, wax-free leather conditioner with a soft cloth. Rub gently in circular motions, let it absorb for 10 minutes, and buff away the excess to keep the leather soft and enhance its natural patina.

Storage

Store leather pieces in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, which can fade the color. Fill bags with tissue paper to help them keep their shape, and store them inside a breathable cotton dust bag.

02 · Suede Leather

Brush gently. Blot, never rub.

Suede is prized for its soft, velvety texture, but its open grain surface needs special attention to stay plush and clean.

Brushing is essential

Water and liquid cleaners should generally be avoided on suede. Instead, use a dedicated suede brush with soft brass or nylon bristles. Brush gently in one direction to remove dust, restore the "nap", the velvety texture, and lift surface scuffs.

Stain removal

For dry stains or marks, gently rub a specialized suede eraser over the area. For liquid spills, blot immediately with a clean, dry cloth, do not rub, as this pushes the liquid deeper into the fibers.
